Name: Martyn Hawkins

Position: Commodore

About:
I learned to sail at around age 11 relying heavily on the wisdom of "Crab" Searl in the pages of an old paperback - hardly the RYA recommended route! Since then I've had quite a few breaks from sailing when other things in life got in the way but have always found myself back in a boat.

Sailing clubs - I've been a member of Aberystwyth University, Datchet Water, Mumbles YC and then Kingsmead where I was commodore and Training Principal for several years. I'm really glad to have been part of RSC for a few years now. I've enjoyed joining in with the life of a great club.

You'll sometimes find me sailing Polly the Comet Versa with Jane.

I love to teach people to sail and am an RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor and RYA Powerboat Instructor. I was glad to have been able to get RSC set up as an RYA training centre.

If you need help learning to sail or with sharpening your skills I hope that you'll choose to train with us.

As commodore I'm proud to lead a really great committee who, together with enthusiastic members, help the club to grow and make it a great place to enjoy the water and to socialise.
