Name: Martyn Hawkins

Positions: Vice Commodore / Principal Training Officer

About:
I learned to sail at around age 11 relying heavily on the wisdom of "Crab" Searl in the pages of an old paperback - hardly the RYA recommended route! Since then I've had quite a few breaks from sailing when other things in life got in the way but have always found myself back in a boat.

Sailing clubs - I've been a member of Aberystwyth University, Datchet Water, Mumbles YC and then Kingsmead where I was commodore and Training Principal for several years. I'm really glad to have been part of RSC for a few years now. I've enjoyed joining in with the life of a great club.

You'll sometimes find me sailing Polly the Comet Versa with Jane.

I love to teach people to sail and am an RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor and RYA Powerboat Instructor. It was good to get RSC set up as an RYA training centre and I'm proud to lead a really great training team.

If you need help learning to sail or with sharpening your skills I hope that you'll choose to train with us.
