We're committed to minimising the impact of our activities on the environment. Here's how we aim to achieve our environmental objectives:

Edit Legal

We will comply with all environmental legislation that applies to us, and where we can we'll adopt best practice over and above the minimum legislative requirements.

Fuel Fuel

We will ensure that club power boats are fuelled safely and responsibly to avoid spillages and pollution. All power boats will carry a spill kit. Anyone who has to refuel our boats will be trained in refuelling good practice and the use of spill kits.

Water Use Water

We will minimise the use of water in all of our activities. For example; fitting hoses with automatic trigger nozzles and turning off taps when not in use.

Energy Energy

We'll minimise the use of electricity in all of our activities. Where possible we're replacing old light bulbs with energy efficient ones. As part of closing the club we turn off non-essential circuits to ensure there is no accidental waste of power.

Invasive species Invasive Non-Native Species

Argh! Not in our pond, let's keep 'em out....

It's an organism (plant, animal, fungus, or bacterium) that isn't native to us and has negative effects on our environment, or health. If it gets in then managing it will cost us time, effort and money.

Anyone who brings anything onto our site that's going in the water must wash it down thoroughly - here's how.

Waste and Recycling Waste and Recycling

We provide bins so that you can separate items that can't be recycled from those that can.

As a volunteer club it really helps if you can take recycling away from the club and recycle it at home.

Review Review

We are always conscious of the need to measure our efforts and improve them.

We'll review our policy yearly but, if you have any ideas on what we can do better, please let a committee member know.
