When: First Saturday of every month, 13.30 – 16.00
Who’s it for: Saturday Social Sail is for sailors of all abilities, to sail together, have fun, practice sailing skills and offer support to each other.
What you need: We would expect you to demonstrate self rescue skills in the event of a capsize, be comfortable with tacking and gybing and be able to rig and de-rig your boat with only some support needed. We would recommend that you have Level 1 or 2 RYA sailing skills.
The sailing: The sessions are very relaxed and may offer informal coaching, racing, games and land based advice on rigging and kit. We always have a support boat on the water during the session. It’s a perfect way to gain confidence and get out onto the lake. We welcome new members very warmly.
Boat hire: There is no need to pre-book a club boat on the day, but if you do not use your own boat, then please pay £5, either by cash or by bank transfer on the RSC account.
The social bit: Share a cup of tea/coffee/biscuits and chat with your clubmates about sailing and the joys of RSC.
