Trojans
A session for the youngest members of the club aged 4-8 aimed at getting them out on the water in a boat with an adult. Trojans is primarily for members of the club but we may be able welcome friends or youngsters with an interest in sailing.
Members can just come down to the Club on a Trojan Saturday – you’ll find upcoming dates on this page (click the date for more info) – to join your friends on the water.
There will be a fun range of stuff on offer from just messing about to racing!
Generally sessions run like this:
| 11:00am – 12:00pm | Session starts |
| 12:00pm – 1:30pm | Lunch/BBQ (weather permitting). |
| 1:30pm – 2:00pm | Briefing/boat allocation/rigging boats. |
| 2:00pm – 3:00pm | Organised fun activities with some informal teaching on hand if wanted. |
| 3:00pm – 4:00pm | Free sailing with safety cover. |
| 4:00pm – 4:30pm | Boats packed away. |

RYA OnBoard
We’re proud that RSC joined the RYA’s OnBoard programme in 2020. OnBoard is a really successful programme that helps to make sailing and windsurfing easier to access for 8-18 year olds.

For a while now RSC’s Trojans has been a great way for younger members to have fun at the club and to join their friends on the water.
Of course, that’s going to continue but now we’ll be a part of the RYA’s great OnBoard programme too!
We’ll also continue to offer training from the RYA’s Youth Sailing Scheme so that even more young people in the area can benefit from these fantastic qualifications.
We look forward to working closely with the RYA’s OnBoard team to promote, encourage and develop young people’s use of the club and its water.

It’s great to welcome Rickmansworth Sailing Club to the OnBoard programme.
Getting out on the water has a huge amount of benefits, no matter what your age, background or ability.
